Spend some time getting to know your students’ interests, and then weave their interests into a creative storyline for your lesson. In other words, take something your kids like and make an extended metaphor out of it that relates to skiing. Examples:

  • Pretend to be at the zoo. Moving down the hill like different animals. Crouch small like a mouse, stand tall like a giraffe, hop like a kangaroo, walk uphill like a duck, ski fast like a cheetah, or slow like a snail.
  • Pretend that laser beams are attached to the students knees and spend the day traversing the slopes hunting zombies in the woods. Get silly with it!
